On today's third stage - the last on Danish soil - the Asgreens Kolding attracted more attention.
But it wasn't just the Quick-Step rider who was actually on home soil. Wolf Pack teammate Mikkel Honore was also cycling on well-known roads.
And it wasn't just about bones and heads, how many Danes roared riders forward.
"I had moments where I was sitting behind my glasses and I wouldn't say crying, but I was very emotional as I rode towards Kolding with Vejle," he says at the finish line in Sonderborg, where family and friends arrived.
It is with his family, with whom he suddenly - when the Corona and Tour became relevant - has to be at the wedding, that he now waves goodbye after the historic big division on the already Jutland lands.

This also applies to Mikkel Honore.
'It's been a crazy experience. The coolest three days ever,' he says. "Dating friends and family on the route; it was especially because I'm not normally a sensitive person, but it suited me," he admits.

Unfortunately, it's safe to say that Kolding isn't the only trait he has in common with teammate Asgrin.
The knee is also causing problems for Mikkel Honore, in the midst of dreaming of the Danish tour
"I've had moments where it really hurt there," says debutant Tour, who has had to be treated with a cold spray in the last few kilometers.
He says the swollen knee is the remnants of an accident on the wet roads of Copenhagen.
"It could be a bump or a bruised patella, but we're checking that right in Belgium," concludes Honore, who is on his way to Sønderborg airport with the Quick-Step team.
